HISTORY

Nu-Look 1Hr Cleaners was formed in 1967, however it had its genesis from the 1940's in Washington, D.C. when a young, Karl Dickey moved there at the young age of 17. Working as a salesman at the end of a aisle in a 5 & 10 store, Mr. Dickey saved up $500 and had the choice to purchase a restaurant or a dry cleaner - both which were advertised in the classifieds. He chose the dry cleaner and started Dickey's Dry Cleaning and Shirt Laundry which grew in a multi-store chain within Washington, D.C. during the 1950's. In 1967, Mr .Dickey started a dry cleaning equipment company called D.C. Equipment Company on Blair Road in the District of Columbia. You can see some of those pictures here. Again, if you are having trouble with your page loading you can refer to our Facebook page with has them here.

In 1967, the Nu-Look 1Hr Cleaners name and logo were born and now Nu-Look 1Hr Cleaners can be found in many states and in Indonesia. Nu-Look continues to seek new locations for its expansion.
